​Frances Heiss is a fiber artist and wood worker from Colorado Springs, CO. Frances enjoys creating functional pieces of art. She loves to bring color and joy into people’s everyday lives. Frances discovered her love of fiber arts while attending Colorado College. She graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Art in Southwest Studies with a focus on Navajo Textiles. Since graduating, Frances has continued to explore numerous weaving techniques, including incorporating upcycling clothing into her craft. She weaves with a zero-waste mindset, using every part of her woven cloth, even the small scraps. Frances focuses on creating sustainable alternatives to fast fashion and consumer culture. Her work consists of handwoven scarves, plush dishtowels, one-of-a-kind clothing, and much more!
